Work inspired by Audre Lorde.

Audre Lorde was a Black, lesbian, feminist poet, essayist, and activist, and one of the most influential voices in 20th‑century Black feminist thought. Her work is essential to the Black experience because she gave language to what many Black women live, feel, and fight through. She offered tools for self‑knowledge, resistance, and community.

The Good Ally Series

The Good Ally Series is inspired by the book of the same name by Nova Reid:  a wise, clear, compassionate and comprehensive guide to white allyship. Nova Reid shows white people how to unlearn their racism. At the beginning of The Good Ally she sets out the four key stages to keep minds and hearts as white people aspire to become white allies.

Female Busts

The series evolved from a need to reposition women (and in this case Black women) as worthy, honouring them by giving them the spotlight history often withheld. Instead of celebrating only famous men, they celebrate women’s strength, information garnered, and everyday importance. Each bust, often using a similar face (an image of universality) repositions Black women central to our shared world, and embrace new ways of belonging.
