Art in Isolation – “A View From My Window”
Painted for an isolation related project and with a defined scale, 20×20 cm, it is much smaller than my normal work.
Each participant was asked to create an interpretation of the view from their window while in isolation. The collection of work will be curated to create a large collaborative landscape. The aim is to create not only an aesthetically engaging but also truly diverse visual representation during this global crisis. This is, after all, the biggest leveller of our time. Melting Icecaps – A new old piece
“Melting Icecaps” A reworking of a painting last year, inspired by my husband’s epic photographic visit to the Antarctic 10 years ago. Along with the rest of the world, the Antarctic is warming up. The polar ice caps in Greenland and Antarctica are melting at a rate six times faster than that observed less than 30 years ago. It appears the recent lockdown has shown just how much impact we have on our precious planet and how much Mother Nature can regenerate.
